AuctionNow offers you the opportunity to bid on fabulous products and services from some awesome, locally-based companies! Don't miss out on these great items - let the bidding begin!
Bidding Process and Liability
By placing a bid, you are liable to pay the amount of your most recent placed bid if you are the closing bid.
To place a bid, you must register here. Once registered you can go through the auction and items and place your bids. (Please note above - once your bid is placed, you are liable to pay.) If you are outbid at the deadline, that item will be extended 3 minutes to give you an opportunity to place another bid. This 3-minute extension will continue until someone stops bidding, and/or the time runs out. Note: Only the one particular item will extend, the rest of the auction will close on the specified deadline.
Auctions that are bid on right before the close time will extend the close time by 3 minutes. This allows bidders the opportunity to get the last word on that coveted item!
Unless otherwise stated on the product information page, minimum bid increases are defaulted to 10% of the last bid. However, you can manually type a bid higher than the default if you so choose.
Please bid carefully. You cannot retract a bid after it has been placed. Once you have bid on an item you are liable to pay for that item.
Account Suspension or Restriction
We may suspend any User’s access to any or all Services without notice for:
(i) Placing a bid on an item and asking to rescind your bid
(ii) Failure to pay for item(s)
(iii) You have violated one of our rules or policies
Maximum Bid / Automatic Bidding:
Automatic bidding is the easiest way to bid on an AuctionNow item! Simply enter the highest price you're willing to pay for an item, and we do the rest. When you're ready to bid on an auction listing, enter the maximum amount you feel comfortable with. We will then bid on your behalf – enough to keep you in the lead, but only up to that limit.
If someone outbids you, we'll let you know so you can decide if you want to increase your maximum limit.
If your item qualifies for tax, you will be liable to pay the additional tax fee. Federal and Provincial taxes apply to some items as if you were to purchase directly from the business of said item.
Paying for your item(s):
If you are the closing bidder you have the option to pay with Credit Card or Cash. If you choose Cash payment you must pay for your item within 48 hours. After 3 days the Credit Card on file will automatically be charged. To update your Credit Card information please visit your Account Page. Items will not be available for pickup until the final bid price has been paid in full. Payment options include: Visa, Mastercard, or cash. We do not accept AMEX or other payment methods not previously listed. To make cash arrangements please contact email@example.com. Applicable taxes (GST & PST) are not included in the purchase price. When paying with Cash, the corresponding charity or organization will contact you once payment has been received to arrange pickup of your item(s).
Picking up your item:
Once your item(s) are paid in full, a representative from the charity, organization or corresponding business will notify you to arrange pickup of your item(s). Inquiries may be made to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you require your item(s) to be shipped, the cost is solely on the winning bidder and the cost of shipping is not included in the winning bid price. All extra shipping & handling is to be prepaid before the item is shipped. To arrange shipment of your item please contact email@example.com.
Management & Processing Fee(s):
I am being asked “Help support this charity auction by covering performance & processing fees”, what does this mean?
Bidders have the option to help a charity by covering the Platform & Processing fees. You can opt in to cover the charity’s fees or opt out.
We will charge a 7% management fee on the total amount per item. This fee includes the use of the AuctionNow platform as well as credit card processing fees and can either be covered by the charity or by the user if the user opts in.
