Dena Milanese is a creative expressive mixed media artist.  She desires to bring colour to life and life to colour.  Creating art has been essential to her healing process birthed from the most traumatic, dramatic, chaotic times of her old story.

Creative journaling is the rebirth of Art Therapy, which has enabled her to rip, tear, cut, stick and spray much similar to her past choices in life.  This led Dena into a process of envisioning images and drawing them.  She learned to focus on the task at hand and her mind became healthier and led her to a rebirth of her passion to create art that was healing her heart as well.

Dena works in various materials, textures, and mediums such as gels, gesso, dyes, stencils, stamps, words, numbers, cardboard, puzzle pieces and other recyclables.  Utilizing several by accident and of course, on purpose, she used techniques created by trial and error, much like life.

Dena's colours resemble a prism blue, teal, purple, gold, silver, and bronze.  The diamond must be pressed, cut, shaped, buffed and formed so that intention to shine bright is met and delivered.  Much like life unfolding in a new day, which came from the desire to have the courage to face her past, so she could live free in the present.  Living with intent and purpose to shine love and light to those in darkness.  Dena's deepest desire of her creative Artsheart is to bring hope, courage, and comfort to those in brokenness.
